24 April 2009 - Joffers: My Girl

Legacy Hotels & Resorts has partnered with 94.7 and Piggs Peak Casino for the Joffers: My Girl promotion. This promotion ran over six weeks and culminated in one lucky listener being pronounced Joffers: My Girl with the opportunity to spend some time on the beach at Nosy Iranja Lodge with Joffers.

Eight girls were selected from the 300 entrants and, after a series of on-air interviews, were whittled down to four. The ladies had to charm their way into Graeme's heart and through a process of elimination, the perfect match was sought and found, hopefully without too many broken hearts left behind. The chosen four plus Joffers moved into the luxurious Michelangelo Towers on Nelson Mandela Square.

The Michelangelo Towers rises an impressive 143 metres above the Sandton skyline and offers majestic panoramic views of the Gauteng skyline. Once you've entered the hotel you will know you have arrived!

Each week one girl was eliminated until there are two girls left. Then a wild card was introduced - a third girl, from the original eight, was entered into the fray. Listeners then had to vote on who would move into the Michelangelo Towers luxurious 600m² Cupola Suite and who would be kicked downstairs for the final week of the competition. The cupola suite boasts three storeys situated at the crest of the all-suites hotel and has three en-suite bedrooms as well as its own private entrance, lift, lounge, dining room, bar, kitchen, gym equipment and swimming pool - so competition for the two spots in the suite was high.

The promotion culminated in a live broadcast from the Cupola Suite on 3 April where the winner had the opportunity to decide if she was going to go with Joffers to Nosy Iranja Lodge just off Madagascar for a week of island magic or give him the bullet. The winner Nicole Mayet told the listeners a very touching story of a man who had saved her life who had recently passed away and that she would dearly like to give her prize to his widow.

Paddy Brearley, our MD, was very touched by Nicole's story and agreed that it is her prize to do with as she chooses but he also offered Nicole and her daughter the opportunity to go to Madagascar with her friends and experience the magical Nosy Iranja herself.

So poor Joffers got the bullet AGAIN!
